The Communicator Award of Excellence, the highest distinction in the International Academy of the Visual Arts' annual competition, for The Writing Company's design of Newark's Super Summer guide to summer activities citywide. The Communicator Awards receives more than 9,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
The New Jersey Advertising Club's Jersey Awards/First Place Award of Excellence. The prize came in the Public Service TV-Institutional category and honored a public service announcement created by the agency for the Clean Newark campaign, a major quality of life initiative launched by the City of Newark. Regarded as the state advertising industry's benchmark awards competition, the Jersey Award honors firms selected from more than 600 entries reviewed by a blue ribbon panel of judges.
The Big Apple Award for Marketing Communications Excellence for The Writing Company's City of Newark environmental education and motivation program. The New York City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America bestowed the award.
The Leaders in Environmental Excellence (LEX) Award for the environmental education and motivation program created by The Writing Company for the City of Newark, New Jersey. The award distinguished this program as the best of its kind in New Jersey. The LEX Award was bestowed by Environmental Exposition, Inc., a non-profit association of government industry and environmental service company representatives.
The Communicator Award of Excellence, the Communicator Awards competition's highest distinction, for the 2005 edition of New Jersey's African American Visitors Guide written and designed by The Writing Company.
The Communicator Silver Award for Publication Excellence honoring The Writing Company's work writing and designing the Newark Municipal Council's Soaring Eagles publication chronicling the history of Negro League baseball in Newark.
